Chemical synthesis on a chip

We are primarily interested in radiopharmaceuticals, combinatorial chemistry, and formulations chemistry. Our collaboration with the chemist Joe DeSimone (U.N.C. Chapel Hill) has resulted in a promising breakthrough in the development of solvent-resistant microfluidics which we believe will open many opportunities in this area (1). One of the areas in which we are actively seeking to develop this technology is for synthesis of Positron Emission Tomography (P.E.T.) contrast agents and radiopharmaceuticals; we are working with Mike Phelps ( U.C.L.A Medical School ), the inventor of P.E.T..
